Irish shares follow European markets higher

European shares were boosted by strong US manufacturing data which lifted stock markets in the US and Asia overnight.

European shares open higher following strong US data

European shares were boosted by strong US manufacturing data which lifted stock markets in the US and Asia overnight.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares gained 0.4 per cent by 08:33 am as it followed other European markets higher.

France's CAC and Germany's DAX were both up by 1.5 per cent although in London, the FTSE was broadly unchanged, adding just 0.1 per cent.
