Irish shares extend losses

Irish shares dipped further by midday trading, with the ISEQ share index approaching its lowest level in a year.

Irish shares dipped further by midday trading, with the ISEQ share index approaching its lowest level in a year.

The index was down 86 points at 2357, with CRH, Elan and Kenmare Resources all in steep decline.

Shares slid right across Europe and at midday many leading indices were close to five per cent lower
