Irish-owned nursing home firm repays £1.4 bln debt

The Irish-owned nursing home business Barchester Healthcare has repaid around stg£1.4 billion of debt, as The Sunday Business Post predicted.

The Irish-owned nursing home business Barchester Healthcare has repaid around stg£1.4 billion of debt, as predicted in last Sunday's *The Sunday Business Post*.

The company, backed by the horseracing magnates JP McManus and John Magnier, has been in negotiations with its lenders for close to a year, with close to £1 billion in borrowings due to mature in October.
