Irish mortgage market is luring buyers back in

Despite movement in the market, securing finance on your home is still very tough, so preparation is key, writes Emma Kennedy.

As tentative signs of growth in the mortgage market begin to emerge, experts have warned that getting a mortgage is still no easy task and requires both a lot of preparation and a healthy dose of consideration.

Figures released by the Irish Banking Federation (IBF) last week revealed that mortgage approvals were up 7.3 per cent year-on-year. The IBF report showed that 1,652 mortgages were approved by lenders in June to the value of €280 million.
