Le Brocquy, Henry, Yeats, Middleton, and O'Conor, a dazzling Orpen portrait and dynamic abstracts by John Shinnors all feature in Sotheby's British and Irish art sale in London this week.

The first major work by Louis le Brocquy to be auctioned since his recent death is the very first of his Travellers series, painted in 1945 when he encountered the travelling community outside Tullamore, Co Offaly.
