The Irish-led €93million bid to buy Aston Villa football club is still on track, despite ‘‘little progress being made in recent months’’, according to the British businessman fronting the bid.

The Irish-led €93million bid to buy Aston Villa football club is still on track, despite ‘‘little progress being made in recent months’’, according to the British businessman fronting the bid.

Mike Neville said the consortium, which is backed by millionaire Irish property developers Luke and Brian Comer, was meeting its bankers and representatives from the Premiership football club over the coming weeks in an effort to finalise the deal.
