Derek Richardson, the Irish insurance millionaire, is scouring London for locations for a new rugby stadium after taking a controlling stake in London Wasps. The club is a two-time winner of the Heineken European Cup.

Richardson, who made his fortune in online insurance, has emerged as the principle shareholder of the club, which has struggled financially in recent years despite some notable on-field successes.
