Irish company GT Energy has unveiled plans for the largest commercial geothermal heating project in Britain.

Irish company GT Energy has unveiled plans for the largest commercial geothermal heating project in Britain. The firm is aiming to raise €400 million to fund this and other projects in the medium term.

Located in Manchester, the project will involve the drilling of two wells approximately three kilometres deep to tap into the Cheshire Basin, one of Britain's largest geothermal resources. GT Energy's chief executive, Padraig Hanly, said the company would raise €15 million...
