Irish deaths abroad increase

There has been a sharp increase in the number of Irish people who have died while travelling abroad.

There has been a sharp increase in the number of Irish people who have died while travelling abroad.

The number of Irish people arrested for suspected criminal behaviour on foreign soil has also surpassed previous records, according to Department of Foreign Affairs figures.

A total of 151 Irish people have died while travelling abroad since the start of this year. This compares with 130 over the same period last year.
