Irish cashing in on iPhone apps
With over 75,000 applications available to download, Apple’s online App Store has become an overnight sensation.
Because of its success, Irish mobile phone developers have turned their focus to creating iPhone applications in the hope of capitalising on the huge commercial opportunities on offer.
Now, a group of these developers have formed an alliance called Apps.ie, an online showcase for Irish-made iPhone applications.
The website currently has 27 applications from about 20 developers, with dozens more in the pipeline, according to cofounder Dermot Daly of Tapadoo. com.
