The Republic of Ireland football team has slipped eight places in the FIFA rankings for November.

The team is now ranked in 36th place, having ranked in 28th place last month. Since the previous rankings were released, Ireland suffered a humiliating 6-1 defeat to Germany in Dublin. That defeat saw huge pressure put on manager Giovanni Trapattoni but, despite intense speculation, he held on to his job.
