Ireland had one of the highest rates of lung transplant in Europe last year, new figures show, with 33 lung transplants carried out here last year.
Ireland had one of the highest rates of lung transplant in Europe last year, new figures show, with 33 lung transplants carried out here last year.
Many countries with bigger populations carried out much fewer transplants, with Ireland’s rate per million of population only eclipsed by Austria and Belgium in the European Union (EU).
The comparative figures, which were collated by the Irish Kidney Association, showed Ireland jumped up the European rankings last year.
