Ireland may have to hold another referendum if EU leaders agree upon a qualitative move towards fiscal union requiring changes to EU treaties at their summit meeting later this week, Goodbody Stockbrokers has warned.

"While this would not be welcomed by the Irish government, it seems to us to be a price worth paying," the broker said in a morning note.
