Ireland is facing 17 cases in the European Court of Justice (ECJ) over alleged breaches of EU environmental safeguards.
Ireland is facing 17 cases in the European Court of Justice (ECJ) over alleged breaches of EU environmental safeguards.
The cases, which have been initiated by the European Commissioner for the Environment, Stavros Dimas, include eight infringements of previous ECJ judgments. The remaining nine cases are awaiting decisions on whether they will proceed, according to a list of proceedings released by the commission.
