Ireland extends visa waiver for Chinese

UPDATE: Taoiseach Enda Kenny has extended until October 2016 a visa waiver scheme for Chinese tourists.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has extended until October 2016 a visa waiver scheme for Chinese tourists.

He made the announcement at an event in Beijing attended by 150 Chinese travel trade, media and airline representatives.

"My government wishes to see many more Chinese visitors coming to Ireland," he said. Our approved destination status is an important factor for us in attracting tourists but we also welcome individual and independent tourists."
