The largest and most detailed snapshot of household spending habits is set to reveal a surprising picture of Ireland as a nation of savers and not spenders.
The Central Statistics Office has begun assessing responses collected from 13,000 people living in 8,000 households. The survey is undertaken every five years to keep tabs on changing consumer spending habits.
