Investors wary of Irish stock market

‘Sell in May a n d g o away’, the time-honoured Wall Street saying, looks less of a cliche and more a truism this weekend after another turbulent week for stock markets across the globe.

The Iseq dipped blow the 7,000 mark last week for the first time since the beginning of December last year. The market has handed back all the gains made in 2006 and then some, down 1 per cent over the last twelve months and 9 per cent off the all-time high reached on March 31.
