Top US investment manager Michael Hassenstab continues to bet on Ireland's recovery, and now controls funds holding more than 10 per cent of Ireland's debt to private lenders.
Recently filed returns show that Franklin Templeton funds, largely managed by the San Franciso-based Hassenstab, now hold €8.5 billion of Irish government bonds. Reliable market sources in Dublin believe that he has subsequently built his holdings to close to €10 billion.
