As the most significant change in Europe's payments systems since the 2002 introduction of the euro fast approaches, individuals and businesses should get used to the term SEPA.

That's according to William Patten, head of AIB's Corporate Cash Management team.

In February of this year, the EU parliament adopted a regulation mandating the closure of national euro payment schemes across the EU.
