International funds sell down holdings in Irish Reits

A number of international investment firms have sold chunks of their holdings in Irish Reits in recent months.

A number of international investment firms have sold chunks of their holdings in Irish Reits (real estate investment trusts) in recent months, new filings show.

New filings show London-based hedge fund Marshall Wace dropped its Hibernia Reit shareholding by about seven million shares, from around 5.15 per cent to a holding of less than 3 per cent.

In August, Boston-based mutual fund Putnam Investments offloaded four million shares to bring its Hibernia shareholding from 8.7 per cent...
