Computer chip-maker Intel may sell a loss-making division that employs more than 2,000 people in Ireland, according to a US technology analyst.

Computer chip-maker Intel may sell a loss-making division that employs more than 2,000 people in Ireland, according to a US technology analyst.

Doug Freedman, an analyst with American Technology Research in San Francisco, said a private equity firm could buy Intel’s flash memory division, which makes memory for mobile phones, digital cameras and other devices.
