Chipmaker Intel is investing tens of millions of euro in its operations in Leixlip in Kildare to prepare employees to make the next generation of computer chips.

Chipmaker Intel is investing tens of millions of euro in its operations in Leixlip in Kildare to prepare employees to make the next generation of computer chips.

Sources close to the company said that its US parent had approved a major capital investment in refitting its older facilities at Leixlip to manufacture new technologies. The move is seen as an endorsement of the Irish operation at a time of economic uncertainty.
