The Department of Health said private health insurers are to accelerate a €125 million payment to publicly funded hospitals this year, said a report.

The Department of Health said private health insurers are to accelerate a €125 million payment to publicly funded hospitals this year, said a report.

The payment will reduce a spending overrun by the Health Service Executive, Bloomberg reported. The department said that the agreement provides “much needed funds” for hospitals until the end of December, the report said.

The payment involves private patients already treated in public hospitals where insurers haven’t yet received...
