Insurance brokers charge up to 25% extra

Consumers could pay as much as €440 more for their car insurance, or 25 per cent more, if they buy their insurance from a broker than a company directly, according to a survey by The Sunday Business Post.

Consumers could pay as much as €440 more for their car insurance, or 25 per cent more, if they buy their insurance from a broker than a company directly, according to a survey by The Sunday Business Post.

The survey, which examined the cost of car insurance, also found that a young male driver pays up to four times more for insurance than an older driver with a similar car and driving background.
