Innovative move for medical firm

The founders of MedNova, a Galway firm that was bought by Abbott in a multimillion euro deal in 2005, have reemerged with a new medical devices firm, Novate Medical.

The founders of MedNova, a Galway firm that was bought by Abbott in a multimillion euro deal in 2005, have reemerged with a new medical devices firm, Novate Medical.

Chas Taylor and Paul Gilson, two of the founders of MedNova, are chairman and chief executive respectively of Novate.

The young company has just raised €4 million in funding from ACT Venture Capital, Seroba Bioventures and Enterprise Ireland.
