INM staff weigh up possible strike action

Workers unhappy over conditions at the media company and possible pay cuts, writes Róisín Burke.

Staff at the Sunday Independent, Irish Independent and Herald newspapers are to consider the option of strike action, following concern over conditions and possible pay-cut fears.

At a recent meeting for Independent News and Media (INM) staff held by the National Union of Journalists (NUJ), it was agreed to carry out a “consultative ballot on industrial action among staff”, an email to members said. The timing of any strike ballot has not yet been decided,...
