IN&M 2011 operating profit drops 8.6%

Media group Independent News & Media has reported an 8.6 per cent drop in profit to €75.5 million for the 2011 financial year.

Its shares dropped on the news, trading down 2.4 per cent in Dublin at 24 cent at 8.50 am.

The firm reported earnings per share of 9.8 cent and said its net debt had dropped by 9.9 per cent to €426.8 million.
