Morgan Kelly: the Professor of Economics at University College Dublin warned of a coming disaster in the SME sector.

The small and medium size enterprise (SME) sector in Ireland employs approximately 70 per cent of all those employed according to a recent Central Statistics Office report. The real core of this employment, 90 per cent, happens in the micro-enterprise sized businesses with less than ten employees.

It is this statistic that focuses the mind very sharply on the resource restrictions that many owner/managers face when it comes to specialist areas such as information security.
