Industrial production drops in March

Industrial production fell by 2.7 per cent in March from February and was down by 5.7 per cent on the year.

Industrial production fell by 2.7 per cent in March from February and was down by 5.7 per cent on the year.

The February number was also revised downwards to a 3.2 per cent decline from 3.7 per cent.

Davy Research noted that the recovery in production in late 2010 and early 2011 had been all but wiped out. The index is now at its lowest level since December 2009.
