Industrial output rises 3.1% in October

Manufacturing output rose 3.1 per cent in October from September on the back of growth in high-tech and chemical activity, the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office have shown.

Manufacturing output rose 3.1 per cent in October from September on the back of growth in high-tech and chemical activity, the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office have shown.

On an annual basis, production for October 2012 fell by 17.9 per cent when compared with October 2011.

The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for the quarter of August to October 2012 was 9.1 per cent lower than in the preceding quarter.
