Independent retailers expand their convenience brands

Centra, Spar, Gala and Londis will all open 40 new outlets this year, according to estimates.

Centra, Spar, Gala and Londis will all open 40 new outlets this year, according to estimates. Add to that 30 Costcutters, 15 Maces, and a host of other new stores across a variety of brands and you get the picture of a growing convenience shop sector.

Across Ireland, affiliated independents – from the smallest to the largest - are expanding their networks, giving these brands a retail footprint that covers both rural and urban areas.
