More than 20 heads of state attended the inauguration of Ivory Coast’s president Alassane Ouattara yesterday, nearly six months after he was confirmed the winner of the country’s presidential election runoff with rival Laurent Gbagbo.

More than 20 heads of state attended the inauguration of Ivory Coast’s president Alassane Ouattara yesterday, nearly six months after he was confirmed the winner of the country’s presidential election runoff with rival Laurent Gbagbo.

Up to a 100,000 people were expected to celebrate the event in the nation’s capital, Yamoussoukro, which has be en patched up since forces loyal to the presidential candidates clashed last month.
