The very technology that may lead to whoever took the McCann child is now under wide scrutiny in the British press and parliament.

Somewhere in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz, a mobile phone mast may hold the key to solving the extraordinary mystery of the snatching of little Madeleine McCann. Last week, British police launched a huge media-driven campaign across Europe in the hope of eliciting new information. Already they have established that the original timeline for her abduction was mistaken and they have circulated an e-fit picture of a man they want to talk to.
