The four big skills are fire, shelter, food and water. A person can go about three minutes without air, three hours without shelter, three days without water and three weeks without food. If you're lost here in Ireland, you'll need shelter before you'll need food.

I lived in a shelter I made in about four hours, in a rainforest outside Seattle, for six months. It was warm and dry.
