Preliminary figures are suggesting that imports and exports slowed in February.

The Central Statistics Office has said exports dropped to €7.3 billion in February from €8.3 in January.

Imports fell by €856 million during the same period resulting in the trade surplus declining by €197 million. The trade balance declined to €3.6 billion from €3.8 billion, reflecting a fall in imports from €4.5 billion to €3.7 billion.
