Irish Life & Permanent has started a search for a chief executive officer for its banking unit in advance of a split of the company next year, according to a report on Bloomberg.

“The process is underway and internal and external candidates have applied, including a number of candidates from outside of Ireland,” a spokesman for the company was reported as saying. The process is “quite well advanced,” he said.
