IFSRA costs came to €38.5m last year

The office of the financial regulator, IFSRA, cost €38.5 million to run last year, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

The office of the financial regulator, IFSRA, cost €38.5 million to run last year, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

That was 11 times the cost of running the Competition Authority and about three times the cost of running ComReg, the telecoms regulator. According to a well-placed source, IFSRA's budget for 2005 will be between €40 and €45 million.
