The IFI French Film Festival, one of the Irish Film Institute's most popular cultural events, begins on Wednesday and continues until November 27.

The festival includes 21 Irish premieres of French features, many of which were highlights of this year's Cannes and Venice film festivals. Among these are the opening night gala film, The Bird by Yves Caumon, which stars Sandrine Kiberlain (both actor and director will be in attendance).
