ICTU warns support uncertain for EU treaty

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) has warned that its support for the referendum on the new EU reform treaty is not guaranteed and may depend on the government changing its position on a new EU directive on agency workers.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) has warned that its support for the referendum on the new EU reform treaty is not guaranteed and may depend on the government changing its position on a new EU directive on agency workers.

A spokesman for ICTU said its position on the treaty had yet to be debated at executive council level, and the government’s opposition to a new deal on agency workers may affect its decision....
