The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (Ictu) has written to the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) to seek its "active involvement" in finding a solution to the problems facing the joint Aer Lingus and Dublin Airport Authority pension fund, writes Fearghal O'Connor.

Staff at the airport fear that the pension fund faces collapse because its actuary reported a deficit of €344 million in March.
