IAWS to commit €50m to consortium's bid for NTL

IAWS Co-op is planning to commit up to €50 million towards a bid for NTL Ireland, which would give it almost half of the equity if the attempt to buy the cable operator was successful.

IAWS Co-op is planning to commit up to €50 million towards a bid for NTL Ireland, which would give it almost half of the equity if the attempt to buy the cable operator was successful.

The co-op is part of a bidding consortium fronted by Irish television company Setanta, which includes private clients of Davy Stockbrokers.

Another member of the consortium, US private equity group Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS), is also expected to stump up...
