IACI calls for IFRS debate

Terence O'Rourke, the president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) has called for more debate on the implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

“Over the last two years we have found it difficult to get broad engagement in the issues surrounding the implementation of IFRS,” O'Rourke said.

“The government decision on which companies were to be allowed use the new standards was relatively late.
