Traffic at Dublin airport is down 20 per cent since 2008.

Total flights in Irish airspace for May 2012 have decreased by 0.7 per cent, when compared to May 2011 and by 15 per cent when compared to the same month in the peak traffic year of 2008, according to figures from the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA).

This reduction is largely attributable to the continued downturn in international arrivals and departures at the three State airports, the IAA said in a statement. There was an average of 1,537 flights per day...
