Hutchison denies it is in talks with Eircom

Hutchison Whampoa, the company controlled by billionaire Li Ka-shing, said it’s not in discussions with the owners of Eircom.

Hutchison Whampoa, the company controlled by billionaire Li Ka-shing, said it’s not in discussions with the owners of Eircom.

“Hutchison is not in talks on Eircom,” the company said in an e-mailed statement.

Without citing anyone, the *Sunday Times* reported on October 23rd that Hutchison had discussions with the senior lenders to Eircom and that the debt holders had talks with several potential buyers.
