A dozen groups representing hunting and shooting enthusiasts have agreed this weekend to form a ‘Countryside Alliance’ and select candidates to target Dáil seats in the next general election.

The move is designed to heighten pressure on government TDs ahead of a Dáil vote this week on legislation to ban stag hunting.
