HSE unveils plans for more private hospitals

The Health Service Executive plans to seek tenders for two more private hospitals ‘co-located’ next to public hospitals in the coming year.

The HSE is expected to invite expressions of interest later this year for sites at Letterkenny and Galway hospitals.

A spokesman for the HSE said it intended to sign contracts with developers for eight private hospitals to be built on the grounds of public hospitals in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, Waterford and Sligo, by the middle of April.
