HSE gives go ahead for cystic fibrosis unit

Agreement has been reached on the development of a national cystic fibrosis unit in Dublin after discussions between St Vincent’s Hospital and the Health Service Executive last Friday.

The deal threatened to unravel after the HSE objected to the fact that hospital buildings funded by the taxpayer were included as collateral for bank loans for a new private unit.
