The Health Service Executive (HSE) and hospital consultants are at loggerheads over the risks to patient safety arising from the consultants’ work-to-rule which begins tomorrow.

Up to 1,800 members the Irish Hospital Consultants Association ( IHCA) which represents the vast majority of hospital consultants will continue with its work-to-rule until its national council meets on June 16, two days after the new Dail is to convene.
