HR & Payroll: Will Revenue follow HMRC?

The British Revenue has moved to compulsory real-time return by employers, and a similar transition by the Revenue here must be on the cards. Leslie Faughnan reports.

This month sees the first anniversary of the introduction of compulsory real-time information' from all British employers by Her Majesty's Revenue Commissioners (HMRC). Several Irish payroll software firms were affected, notably Intelligo with its Megapay product and Thesaurus Software and BrightPay, which have several thousand British employers on their books.
