Part one of a Budget of two halves will be delivered by Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin in the Dáil this afternoon at 2.30pm.

The speech is expected to last half an hour and will detail €1.4 billion worth of cut backs, likely to centre on the big-spending health, social protection and education departments. This comes on top of the €750 million in capital spending cutbacks previously announced.
